HRMS Anti-Microbial LED System Century
The HRMS is an active air treatment system that uses UV-C to reduce bacteria and fungi from the air. This patented device is uniquely designed as a ceiling light so that no engineering controls are needed to operate it. Simply wire it up, plug it in and you are on your way to treating the air.
The HRMS draws in untreated air, pushes it through a highly reflective UV chamber with an ultraviolet light set at the wavelength of 253.7 nanometers which inactivates bacteria or fungi that passes over the lamp. Four fans continue to push the air through the unit at approximately 50 cfm. In a typical 10 x 10 room with 8 ft. ceilings, the air in the room would be treated once every 16 minutes.
The HRMS system uses UV-C in an innovative way to actively draw the dirty air to the UV where the kill rate is the highest, near the lamp itself. Therefore, the ultraviolet germicidal irradiation (UVGI) chamber is shielded from view and hidden in the ceiling plenum, away from patients, visitors and staff.
Air treated by the HRMS is reported to smell fresher and cleaner according to staff at various healthcare facilities where the units are installed. Compared to wards without the systems in place, there is a dramatic difference in the odor.
